TTS price usually reflects the compute needed to generate audio, the voice quality tier, and any extras such as voice cloning or dedicated capacity. Cheaper tiers often trade away naturalness or language coverage.

When you compare vendors, normalise every quote to the same unit, such as rupees per 1,000 characters or per minute of audio, so you are comparing like with like.

• Unit of billing: characters, seconds of audio or credits
• Voice tier: standard, premium or cloned voices
• Concurrency limits and latency guarantees
• Commercial usage and licensing terms

Most providers use one of three models: pay per character, pay per second of generated audio, or a monthly subscription with an included allowance and overage. Per-character pricing is easy to forecast for text-heavy use, while per-second pricing maps better to voice agents that think in call minutes.
